In order to get noticed and gain a competitive edge, it’s important to be an architect.
You have to be able to tell stories, design in the public domain and be innovative.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to enter the Top Architecture Schools Competition.1.
Who is this competition for?
You’re going to have to apply if you want to win the Top Architects competition.
It’s for architects aged 17 to 25.
To get a chance of winning, you have to get the Top Designers competition.
The Top Architecture schools competition has been going for over a decade and aims to make the architecture profession more attractive to the wider public.
This year’s competition is the first to go head-to-head with the best architecture schools across the UK, but there are also other competitions taking place across the world.
In order for you to qualify, you need at least three letters from your school, and you must be a resident of England.
You can find out more about the Top Schools competition here.2.
What’s the entry fee?£50 is the entry threshold, but you can also earn up to £150 if you win the top design competition.
3.
How do I apply?
There are three different ways to enter.
The first is to take part in a “case study”.
You will work with a designer to develop a design that has a compelling story and then put it on display for your friends and family to see.
Your design is then judged on the criteria of the top architects in the country.
You must also complete a questionnaire, and the results of the case study are passed on to your school.
The deadline to apply is Monday 23 February 2019.

What does the winning design mean?
The winner of the Top Architect Schools competition will receive £150 towards their first architecture school tuition.5.
How many places are there?
There is a maximum of 15 entries, and each school has up to 10 spots available for a total of 30 slots.
To find out which schools are on offer, please visit the website here.6.
Who’s eligible?
The Top Architects and Top Design students are selected based on their scores in the case studies.
This means that a student who does well in one of the cases could be eligible for the other, but they would have to wait for the results to be in to be eligible.
The judges also take into account a range of factors including whether the student is a resident or not and the student’s ability to explain their ideas.7.
How much do I have to pay?£150 is the threshold for entry into the competition.
This will include a fee of £10 for the case student and £50 for the design student.
8.
How long does it take to win?
Entries close on Monday 23 April 2019.
The top 15 students will be judged by an independent panel of judges, and will be given a list of six invitations to the competition and a £1,000 scholarship.
The scholarships will be handed out on the day.
The judging panel will then give final approval to the final design and the scholarships will end on Friday 24 April 2019 at 10:00am GMT.9.
What are the criteria for entry?
Entrants must have the ability to tell compelling stories about their designs and the ability for their designs to stand the test of time.
They also have to have a passion for architecture and must be confident in their own ability to do the design justice.10.
